The Rt Hon Dr Liam Fox MP has been appointed by the Ambassadors to the UK from Bahrain, UAE and Israel to take up the position of Chair of the UK Abraham Accords Group.
The Abraham Accords, signed between the UAE, Israel and Bahrain nearly one year ago, gave hope to all of us who want to see disputes between nations resolved through dialogue and not by force. The Accords are an opportunity for Israel and its Arab neighbours to build a common future of shared prosperity, stability and security.
The purpose of the group is to provide a UK forum to promote the Accords and the wider cause of peace across the region.
Dr Fox said:
“I am delighted to announce that I have accepted an invitation from the Ambassadors of those three countries to set up and lead an institution in the UK to promote these Accords and the wider cause of peace across the Middle East”.
Further details about the group will be provided in the coming months.
