Dr Liam Fox MP visited Portishead School to meet the children and see the school’s new play equipment. The visit was organised by Berkeley Harris, Chair of parents’ organisation. The visit started with a 30 Mins Q & A with a group of children on the school council. Dr Fox faced a number of probing questions including some quick thinking maths questions! The visit coincided with a charity fundraising day to support the Portishead Lifeboat and the children were all dressed and pirates. They learnt about what it was like being an MP, how he became and MP and some surprising facts including that his favourite food is broccoli. Dr Fox told the school Head Mr Riordan that he was amazed how impeccably well behaved and patient the children were and told the children that they were very lucky to have such a good school.
