Dr Liam Fox MP was delighted to be invited to hand out the prizes at the Winford Scarecrow Festival in aid of the Harvey Hext Appeal. Eight-year-old Harvey is believed to be the only child in the world with Down's syndrome and neuroblastoma, a form of cancer that attacks the nervous system.
The festival now in its third year runs throughout October and this year saw the appearance of 127 scarecrows all over Winford and surrounding areas based on the theme; Kids TV and Toys. Each scarecrow is designed and built by residents and businesses.
Sarah Hext, Harvey’s mother said later on social media “A huge thank you to Liam Fox MP for prize giving today at Harvey’s Scarecrow Festival. What a great sport he turned out to be. As Always Liam was a fantastic support to Harvey and us as a family.”
