Sir Liam Fox MP meets with Boots' Regional Management to discuss closure of store in Portishead

I spoke to Boots' management this afternoon about the extremely unwelcome closure of the store on Portishead High Street.

I asked why a town with a population of 26,000 could not support an outlet in a prime location in the town.

They told me that this was not primarily a rationalisation of their pharmacy business but that the performance of the store had been reducing for a number of years, especially post-Covid.

There are no plans to close stores in Nailsea or Clevedon and some staff at the Portishead store may be redeployed there.

Patients registered at Boots Portishead should speak to the team their or their GP to ensure continuity of service. Home delivery by Boots also remains an option.
