It was a pleasure to welcome Rotary Nailsea & Backwell to Parliament today.
'The tours took us through both houses where excellent guides took us through the history and development of the 'Mother of Parliaments’; this included the history of the construction, destruction and renovation of the various parts. Liberally sprinkled into the fascinating descriptions were the development, facts and foibles of Monarchs, Lords and Members throughout the centuries. After lunch we were collected by Dr Liam Fox MP and taken upstairs to a committee room for well over an hour of him chatting about Parliament and answering questions. He was obviously enjoying this interaction with his constituents, as evidenced by the increasing agitation of his associate that was trying to get him to leave for another appointment!'
