MPs will have taken a great number of factors into consideration when voting. I know I certainly did. Boris Johnson won the ballot and is therefore entitled to continue as Conservative Leader and Prime Minister. It is imperative that we now turn our full attention to the wider issues facing our country, including inflation and the increasingly violent situation in Ukraine and the consequential famine which is set to hit developing countries. No doubt, the question of the leadership of the Conservative Party will come again in the future but we cannot allow it to become a perpetual distraction at a time when our focus must be elsewhere.
